The Salted and Styled family of women… By day we walk the earth as photographers, stylists, writers and artists. By night we are dreamers and eaters. Sunlight or moonlight, we are always creating. It is in the colors, textures and tastes of food that we often find our inspiration. This week this family of women is inspired by salt. Today, through her lens, photographer Chia Chong shares the thoughtful beauty and hint of whimsy in her photographs from the salt flats of Thailand. Libbie Summers shares two recipes this week. On Tuesday, the stunning beauty of a Smoked Salt-Crusted Beet. And on Thursday, a recipe made with a salty grin –Proscuitto Pretzel Knots. On Wednesday, a simple Southern conversation on the manners of salt sharing inspires the artwork of Katherine Sandoz. And on Friday, Amy Zurcher shares the beauty of a salt inspired piece of energy filled artwork. Join us each day this week as salt seasons our lives…both day and night.

The varicolored and multi-textured meal and her stories open eyes (and mouths) to the some of the tastes, sounds and sites of a distant land that is somehow much more familiar than imagined.
