Watermelon Inspired Centerpiece
Loose, fresh and inspired by the colors of a watermelon filled summer.
An Arrangement from the Farmer’s Market
Most Saturday mornings Byrdie, Woods and I head over to the SFC Farmer’s Market for fresh eggs, organic veggies, and a popsicle (or 2). While Brad is the chef in our house, I am the shopper. And I shop for beauty, not for taste. I see locally grown vegetables the same way I see flowers –some are amazingly beautiful while others can simply be passed by.
Honey Colored Glasses
I came across this wonderful vintage amber glass compote and immediately thought of The Savannah Bee Company and those delicious honeycombs. My friend, Savannah caterer Susan Mason, has travelled miles with them in tow to me here in Texas. The compote truly is the color of honey, especially in the right light. I filled this delicious dish with luscious tree peonies made of supple petals and beds of pollen, clematis so sweet no bee could resist, scented geranium, garden roses, carnations and amazing Oriental poppies for a final sting.
The Perfect Flower for Mom
For a wonderful Mother from an appreciative daughter, I hope you see a little bit of you in this arrangement. I hope that I can be the Mother to Byrd that you have been to me. Happy Mother’s Day with love.
An Arrangement Only the Designer Can Love
I like to squat in lavish lobbies of The Ritz Carlton Hotels, but not for the welcoming TQM employee interaction or the freshly squeezed seasonal beverages. What has me wearing out my Ritz rotunda welcomes are the presence of the always over-the-top floral arrangements.
